How to play Snake

  1. Use the arrow keys, WASD or the yellow buttons to steer. The snake keeps moving, you only choose the next turn.
  2. Eat the blinking dot to grow one segment and score points. Every five dots the level goes up and the snake speeds up.
  3. Hold Space or the blue button for turbo when you want to cross the screen fast. Let go before you turn.
  4. Hitting a wall or your own tail ends the game. Press Enter or START to play again.

About this game

Snake is the game everyone remembers from the little grey handheld and the old Nokia phones. This version keeps the ten by twenty grid of the original brick game, the blinking food and the way the speed creeps up on you. Your best score is saved in your browser so you can come back and try to beat it. A good run is about patience: hug the edges, keep the middle open and never turn back on yourself.
